Spunky! Loving! Gentle! And let's not forget cute as a button! Heidi is the complete package! In fact, she's even better now that she has been "repackaged." You see, Heidi came into rescue very overweight with two kneecaps that would just not stay put (a condition called patellar luxation). But even though this sweet Rattie (with a touch of Beagle, perhaps?) initially had some trouble getting around, she never let it stop her from finding people to follow and love. And now with a svelte figure and both knees repaired (she was a star and a favorite at her vet appointments), Heidi is ever so ready for her forever home. With her happy Heidi personality, which she has had about 7 years to perfect, and a compact, but not too tiny frame of 15 lbs., she would be an amazing companion for a family with children of any age. She absolutely adores children! And her calm temperament and good manners would make her a perfect therapy dog too. She enjoys sitting in your lap and will give kisses as long as you will let her. She is totally house-trained and crate trained, but she is trustworthy in the house without a crate. She also rides well in the car and walks nicely on a leash. No wonder her foster mom calls her "a complete gem of a dog."  The family that adopts Heidi is going to gain a loving, loyal, lifetime member.
