My name is Brownie and I appear to be a retriever mix.  I am available for adoption through Colorado Canine Rescue (CCR), a nonprofit dog rescue located in the Denver area. I came to CCR from a Kansas shelter with my 9 newborn puppies. There is very little history on us.

I have spent the last 8 weeks with my foster family consisting of 8 year old twins, an 18 year old student and my foster mom and dad.  It is a busy household, and when they have activities I stayed with my babies in the laundry room, and graduated to the crate with no issues.  I LOVE playing fetch and I will hoard any type of ball.  I can get overly stimulated when little kids run around, or are playing loudly, because I want to join them and don’t understand I am bigger than they are.  I am getting better at understanding all the noises they make and am working on not joining in too.  I am a very loving dog and love being on the bed, couch, or next to humans.  I sleep at night in my crate next to my foster mom’s side.  I also enjoy car rides and pup-a-cino’s with my foster mom and foster dog brother.  I am working on staying home on my foster family’s acreage, but I will chase rabbits, so best to let me learn my boundaries before going off-leash.  I do well in a fenced yard too.

If you are interested in adopting Brownie, please submit an adoption application located on our website, coloradocaninerescue.org. We are asking for a $200 adoption donation.  She is housebroken, will be spayed, and is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  Please note, CCR cannot guarantee the breed composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have no history prior to them entering the shelter. In addition, most dogs listed as potty trained will experience an adjustment period as they learn the routines in their new home.
