Apollo is a pup from a large litter born in Virginia at the end of March to a young Rat Terrier recently rescued from a Georgia animal shelter. The variety of sizes, facial features, furriness and other physical characteristics suggest a non-Rattie father (or fathers, perhaps) of this lively group. However, they all have certain traits and needs in common. They all have great personalities and love giving kisses to people. They excel at eating heartily, playing hard (squeaky toys are a favorite), and feeling an acute need to nap right after playtime. At 3 months old, they are just learning about the outside world and are finding it an amazing place, and while they're not yet trained to walk on a leash, they will begin working on that soon. They're also working on their house-training and currently using a potty pad successfully. Apollo, at 12 lbs., is one of the larger and more energetic pups. He's usually the one to instigate major pack "playathons," and he'd definitely benefit from being part of an active family. Tall and smooth-coated, Apollo may grow to be around 30 lbs.
