Meet Althea! She is a really sweet 3yr old, 13lb min pin. She absolutely loves people. She follows her foster around the house quite a bit and is very excited to see them every time they get home. She does great with her foster family members that have come to visit and loves attention.  Everyone who pets her is surprised at how soft she is.

We think she would probably do best as the only dog in the house; she does okay with her four-legged foster brother, but if he tries to invade her personal space or play she will do a low growl until he moves. It is possible that she is just adjusting and would do okay with another dog who respects her personal space. She has warmed up quite a bit with her foster family's dog and will happily sit next to him, follow him, and doesn't mind when he tries to play with her anymore.  She would still love to be the only dog receiving attention but would likely by good with other dogs that are not too rough (we are not sure that she has been around large dogs).  When her fosters leave in the morning for work, they put her in the kitchen and she will come over when called and sit on the bed we have in the kitchen for her, so it appears she would be fine for someone who works and is not home during the day.  Althea is house broken.

We think she would be fine with kids of any age as long as they are respectful of her small size. She jumps right in the car to go on a ride but she tends to get a little car sick. Her foster family has a rabbit that she has been uninterested in so we believe she is probably fine with any animal that will respect her space. She loves to cuddle with people and sleeps next to my foster dad at night. Althea is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccines.  Her adoption fee is $250 which helps Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies.  ♥ If you think you would like to meet Althea please fill out an application at www.secondchancedogrescue.org today!
