Houlihan is the only girl in a litter of seven adorable Rat Terrier mix pups born in April. She's shy and it takes some time for her to warm up, but she's truly a sweetheart with a great personality and temperament. She likes to play with squeaky toys and her littermates, and she gets along with all the dogs in her foster home but not with cats. After playtime she will settle down for a nap with her siblings or in her bed. Houlihan is working on her crate training and potty training and will use a potty pad when one is available. While she's not currently leash trained, she'll be working on this skill soon. Before coming into rescue, Houlihan may not have had much human contact because she has had to work at feeling comfortable being held and touched. While she's improving all the time, she hasn't yet met kids, so any children in your home would need to be old enough to be very gentle and to restrain themselves from handling her too much. Houlihan hopes you will give her positive opportunities for socialization, maybe even a basic puppy obedience class. With time and space to adjust, she's going to be one fine dog. Currently weighing 14 lbs., Houlihan may weigh around 30 lbs. as an adult.
