Today we bring you an epic love story!  Yes friends... true love exists. We are talking about the type of love that inspires romance novels and would make Fabio stop to say WOW!

Meet Dobby and Petunia, a bonded lionhead couple who could have their own romance novel. Both are 5.5 years old, she is 3.5 lbs and he is 5.5 lbs. They have a healthy, loving relationship and cannot live without each other. Dobby loves to nurture Petunia, giving her sweet kisses as she snuggles with him to feel safe and secure. He is her emotional support bun. Dobby and Petunia are looking for a home with the right humans who are very experienced bunny owners, who will appreciate the love they have for each other.

Petunia is a sensitive and shy lady. She requires longer, slow introductions and a very patient human companion willing to take the time to develop a trusting friendship. She is skittish with loud noises and will bolt to safety. Petunia will thump when you come in the room to let you know she is on alert. If she hears a loud noise she’ll thump as a warning to others. She loves to cuddle her stuffed bunny when Dobby is busy being active. She prefers to lounge around. Petunia is very shy of other animals and becomes scared if they get near her. She is ok with other bunnies as long as they are separated from her. She adores Dobby and showers him with affection.

Dobby is more active than Petunia, and he will sit on top of his little house and look at her lovingly from afar.  He is quite sassy, if you hold a toy in front of him, he boxes it with his front paws. If he wants behind you he will gently nudge and nip at you to get past you. He does well with being held and loves the spot between his eyes being rubbed. When he gets comfortable with you, he’ll start to lick you to show his affection. Dobby will fiercely protect his lady bun, he does not get along with other rabbits. Dobby is okay with calm dogs that are not prey driven, though he will smack them to show them he is the alpha bunny and to show Petunia he will keep her safe. He's a chivalrous guy who will protect his turf and his special lady. Ideally, they would do best as the only pets in the home or having their own separate room together.

Dobby is Petunia's rock and she is his true north. They currently live together in an expanded exercise pen with tons of toys, hideouts and fun tubes to run through. They enjoy living together so much that they have never jumped out of their pen or plotted an escape. They are crazy about their litter box with its built-in hay rack. They love to explore and free roam, although careful attention needs to be taken for bunny proofing as they will attempt to chew carpet, cord, and walls. Dobby and Petunia love to eat together. Dobby has a very sensitive stomach and can’t have treats. They must always have hay or their tummies get upset.

Lionhead bunnies require some additional special care and grooming. Petunia needs to be groomed a few times a week with her long hair. She often needs help with her hind quarters and scent glands. Petunia needs to be brushed often so they don’t ingest too much hair when grooming each other. Dobby is very good at grooming himself with some support from his humans. They may need to make frequent visits to Bunny Spa Days at Rabbit Advocates to look and feel their best.
