I'm Barkley! True to my name, I express my excitement vocally! See, I'm a happy-go-lucky lad who loves to play, so I have lots of excitement to share! I’m almost 5 months old and I weigh about 8 lbs. I'll probably grow up to be on the smaller side, around 12 to 13 lbs. I'm a friendly fella with LOTS of energy; perhaps my mixed background contains a dash of Jack Russell Terrier along with a generous helping of Rat Terrier. Even though I'm starting to learn about leashes, a fenced yard would be ideal for me because my time is better spent in "free play!" I am pretty fearless and I like playful dogs of all sizes. I need another dog for me to play with because no human friend can meet my energy level! Without a dog friend to help me burn this puppy energy, I might explore naughty ways of entertaining myself. I like playful cats, too, but my youthful exuberance might be over the top for a more reserved feline. The same goes for young children, but I would be OK with older kids who can respect a puppy and tolerate my sharp puppy teeth on their skin. During the day, I would like a grown-up human to be home most of the time because I'm too young to spend long periods in a crate and I need to go outdoors on a regular schedule to reinforce my good potty habits.
