Grinning comes easily to good-natured Higgins as he grows and matures in his foster home. A very playful pup, he loves fetch, bones and toys – particularly squeaky ones – and shows his comical side when he sprawls out on the floor with his back legs splayed or when his upper lip gets caught on his teeth and he looks like a gopher! Somewhat protective of his foster mom, sometimes barking at loud noises or people outside, he loves lying down and cuddling with her on the couch, and is happiest when running free in a yard. Food, treat and toy motivated, he knows "come", "sit", "down", is working on "stay" and "off", is crate and housetrained, and at work on his leash skills to keep his prey drive in check. Because he doesn’t get along with children, cats or other dogs, for Higgins to reach his full potential, he requires a strong leader in a child and pet-free home with a securely fenced yard who’s committed to continuing his training and socialization in exchange for his fur-ever love.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care, enabling us to save more lives!

Adoption fee is $250 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application here .   We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!

Please email ARRColorado@gmail.com for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time.
