Hi!  It’s me, Elmo.  I’m the one you’ve been looking for!  Do you hate squirrels digging in your yard? Me too!  Do you like sleeping in your bed? So do I!  Do you love food? It’s my favorite!  We’re simpatico!  I have a huge heart and I adore people.  I live with my foster mom, dad, two kids (12 and 9).  I’ve never met a stranger, although I confess I haven’t met any toddlers yet.  My foster parents say that I am learning “how to dog.” I came from a sad situation, but I don’t like to talk about that.  Past is past.  When I got to my foster home, I did not know how to walk on a leash, but now I love it!  I'm potty trained and crate trained, I’ve learned how to sit, and I can play with toys now.  My favorite is a squeaky pig, which I carry around in my mouth everywhere I go.  I may still be learning “how to dog,” but I am eager to please, smart as a whip, and ready to be educated!  I am also learning how to be part of a pack.  I live with a male boxer and a female pittie.  She is the boss and I like to follow her around.  With slow, careful introductions, I think I would be a good pack member, as long as the other dogs are calm and confident.  I could also be an only pup, and that way I could soak up all your attention!  But please, not cats.  They are just big squirrels in my world, and you already know how I feel about them.  During the day, while my foster family is away, I hang out in my crate.  I don’t love it, but I’ll do it.  I think I would do best if I did not have to be alone for long periods.  If you are home during the day, or if I could come to work with you, I would love it!  As you can see, I’m really handsome and have the best toothy under bite.  My white coat has great brindle markings and is super soft.  I can be silly and playful, but also serious and calm.  If you want to sit on the couch, I’ll make myself comfortable in your lap.  If you want to work in the yard, I’ll keep you safe from the squirrels.  I am getting healthier by the day.  My foster family is helping me put on good weight, they got rid of my ear mites, and soon I’ll be heartworm free and ready for my forever home.  My adoption fee is $350.
