Meet Hawkeye! He's a 40-lb. 10-month-old whose mama was a Rattie mix and whose father must have been one large fellow. Hawkeye has a great personality that's compatible with all the dogs and cats in his foster home, and he has a high energy level to match his hefty size. He loves to go outdoors where he can run and play and burn off some of that puppy energy, so he's looking for an active family and a home with a fenced yard. Hawkeye loves to play--with other dogs, toys (especially if they squeak), and people. He's an expert at tug-of-war. And after a hefty dose of playtime, he will settle down for a nap to refresh his energy. At night, he'll enjoy sleeping in the same room with you, and he hopes you'll even let him sleep in bed with you. Hawkeye is working on reliably doing his business outdoors and will likely need your reinforcement with a consistent schedule and praise to master house-training. He is crate trained for those times when you need to leave him alone, but it's not his favorite place, so he requests that you not be gone long, please. Enrollment in a puppy class will help Hawkeye develop into the well-socialized, politely playful young man that we're sure he's destined to be.
