Ellie is an affectionate, cuddly, and attentive companion. She is extremely lovable, playful, energetic, and dog-friendly. She has been in ARR’s foster system for over 2 years, and is waiting patiently for her forever home. She is well-trained (ie sit, stay, down, come, etc.) and a good listener. She is food-motivated and loves dog toys (antlers, rope/tug of war, stuffies, etc). She is house-trained and crate-trained. Ellie requires slow introductions when meeting new people, as she is protective, very strong, and still learning about her role when meeting an unfamiliar human (ie loud barking and lunging). Due to this uncertainty and fear, Ellie requires extensive training to feel secure. Ellie wears a muzzle when meeting new people (she is always muzzled in public), and slowly trusts any new human friends using training techniques perfected by her current fosters & Ellie’s trainer. Once she trusts her new human friend, Ellie is her typical loving self! This may take one meeting, or two or more, as we read Ellie’s cues. Ellie’s dream home would include two adult humans who are around often to play with, and a furry brother/sister.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care, enabling us to save more lives!

Adoption fee is $ 0- Sponsored by the Petfinder Foundation and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application here .   We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!

Please email ARRColorado@gmail.com for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time.
