Charlotte is an energetic little girl full of puppy energy--not too surprising considering that she's just 10 months old. But something that did come as a surprise to the foster parents of this adorable Rat Terrier mix was the discovery that she is deaf. While it wasn't expected, Charlotte's deafness inhibits her not one bit, as this lively little lady just loves to play with the dogs (all larger than she) in her foster home. However, it does mean that she can't hear the warning growl of a dog that doesn't appreciate Charlotte's energy level or that doesn't want to play, so she wouldn't get the message until the dog snapped at her. Therefore she likely wouldn't be a good fit for a home that already has a senior dog. She also can't hear the approach of someone behind her and might nip if she were grabbed or touched unexpectedly, so she shouldn't go to a home with children who are too young to understand that they need to alert her with visual cues. On the other hand, Charlotte certainly doesn't need to hear to know that she loves to be held and to snuggle with her human companions. She will be so comfortable that she'll fall asleep in your arms like a baby, and she hopes you won't find that too much trouble since she's a featherweight at just 9.5 lbs. Charlotte likes to go for a daily walk and is well-mannered on the leash. She's also house-trained as long as she gets to go outdoors to potty on a regular schedule. And while she'll fuss for just a little while, she will go into her crate at bedtime and soon fall asleep. Wouldn't you love to cuddle this baby in your arms?
