Don't stare at Stanley's pix too long or you might develop CO, or Cuteness Overload, a condition caused by visual contact with dogs possessing perennial puppy faces like Stanley's! This happy-go-lucky 1-year-old Rat Terrier mix has lots of love to give. While he may initially appear shy, even a little fearful with new folks, give him a second and he'll warm up! He's the kind of dog who will want to be right where you are, whether he's looking to play, cuddle, or curl his tiny 10 lbs. on your lap. He's perfectly content to occupy himself with his toys, but he'll still prefer your company and wants you to spend most of your day at home. If you need to go out for an hour or two, he'll be OK in a crate, and he'll sleep in one overnight as long as he knows you're nearby. Stanley gets along with the other dogs in his foster home and is curious and playful (not aggressive) with the cat. Eager to please, Stanley is very food motivated, leading him sometimes to be protective of his food and treats toward other pets, but he's always a good student. He lets his foster parents know when he needs to go outside and hasn't had a single accident in his foster home. Stanley is practicing some basic commands like come, sit, and shake, and he's catching on fast. He is also learning manners on a leash and harness, and he enjoys little walks.
