Duke is a seven month old deaf Dogo Argentino. He was sent to us by his breeder so he would have the best chance of finding a wonderful home with someone who is committed to having a deaf dog.

He’s a very smart little guy with a wonderful soft temperament. He loves calm and respectful children, and is good with other dogs. He’s very affectionate and learns very fast.

Dogo Argentinos were bred to be powerful and persistent hunters of large game. They need to be included with the family, trained, and socialized. They will also require quite a bit of exercise, activity and mental stimulation. Please do your homework on the breed, as Dogos are not recommended for first time dog owners. They can be formidable adult dogs who require their people to have advanced dog handling skills, or be willing to learn.  Outdoor only homes will not be considered.

We are seeking guardians that will provide Duke with what he needs on a daily basis. Follow-up with training will be required, and part of the adoption contract. We do include training with local adoptions.

To meet Duke, please complete our online application for adoption: www.deafdogrescueofamerica.org/adoption-application.html
