My name is Chantilly, I am available for adoption through Colorado Canine Rescue (CCR): a nonprofit dog rescue located in the Denver area. My foster mom and vet have guessed I am some sort of Chihuahua mix. I am probably around 2 years old. I was found by a woman in New Mexico who cared for my 5 babies and myself until they were 5 weeks old, and then could no longer care for me. I was surrendered to a shelter, and luckily was able to go to rescue the following day. I have been a great mommy, but now I would like to be a baby.

I am fine with other dogs, I think I would be fine with cats, and I have lived with young children. I am gentle, sweet, and mellow. I love wrestling with my puppies now that they are almost fully weaned. I adore my humans and love to be held and to snuggle up on their shoulder. I love going outside and exploring. I will definitely need a solid fence or I may slip out and see what's happening around town. I sleep in my crate without issues. I prefer to be with my human though. If I lived with no other animals, that would be fine. I love getting all of the attention. Sometimes I get a little jealous, but overall I have an amazing temperament. I am mostly quiet. I have whiney bark I occasionally let out. I usually complain if my foster mom is giving my babies baths and not letting me over to help.

I am not a huge fan of mealtime. Probably because I make sure my babies get their needs met first right now. I like my kibble topped with something a little enticing. I don't eat much. I am thin (maybe 10 pounds, if that) and I have long legs. I am a bigger than a purebred Chihuahua.

My dream home is someone who takes care of me and lets me get spoiled. I have worked so hard to care for my puppies. I have been so relieved to have help caring for them (I even leave them with my canine roommates). I have a lot of love behind my eyes and will adore my human forever.

If you are interested in adopting Chantilly, please submit an application located on our website, www.coloradocaninerescue.org. We are asking for a $200.00 adoption donation. Chantilly will be spayed (as of May 1, 2019), up to date on vaccinations, and micro-chipped.  Please note, CCR cannot guarantee the breed composition or ages of our dogs, as we usually have no history prior to them entering the shelter. Please note that CCR cannot hold dogs, arrange meet and greets or adopt out any dogs without a completed and approved adoption application.
