Finley is available for adoption through Colorado Canine Rescue (CCR), a non-profit dog rescue located in the Denver area. She came from an overcrowded shelter in New Mexico. We, along with shelter staff and our veterinarians, are guessing her to be an approximately 1 1/2 year old Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix.

Finley is a sweet, bouncy bundle of fun! When she is happy or told she is a good girl her whole body wiggle with joy! A bit shy when first meeting new people, she warms up quickly and you will soon be BFFs. She is excellent with children, good with other dogs but would probably be too curious with cats. Finley is not possessive of treats, toys or food. She is house trained, using a dog door to go potty outside. She has a medium-high energy level - boundless energy outside yet quiet and calm inside. She gets two 20 minute walks per day and can get a bit amped up when encountering reactive dogs, but is easily corrected. Finley gets a lot of running/playtime in the backyard with her foster's 2 medium sized dogs. Finley does well with free reign of the house, but doesn't mind some crate time. She  loves car rides. She sleeps soundly on a dog bed in the master bedroom. Finley is lean and lanky - 21 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs 43 lbs. She is very trainable, loves to learn and already knows several basic commands.

Finley's ideal life will be with someone living in a house with a good-sized fenced (4 ft. or taller) backyard, as she needs room to run. She would love children to dote on her, although toddlers could accidentally be knocked over by her wagging tail. She could be a solo dog or live with another well-behaved, playful dog. Finley will thrive with a person/family who will continue positive reinforcement training and keep her active (running, hiking, possibly agility training) and include her in all phases of their life and treat her like family.

If you are interested in adopting Finley, please submit an adoption application located on our website, www.coloradocaninerescue.org. We are asking for a $200 adoption donation for Finley. She is spayed, micro-chipped and up-to-date on vaccines. Please note: CCR cannot guarantee the breed composition or ages of our dogs, as we usually have no history prior to them entering the shelter. Please note that CCR cannot hold dogs, arrange meet and greets or adopt out any dogs without a completed and approved adoption application.
