Harley is available for adoption through Colorado Canine Rescue (CCR), a non-profit dog rescue located in the Denver area. Harley is a sweet girl but can be shy when first meeting new people. Harley's foster family and veterinarian suggest she is a Border Collie mix and approximately 2 1/2 years old. She came to us from Texas in September of 2017 after Hurricane Harvey, so we do not have a lot of background information for her. We do think that experience was very stressful on her and impacted her behavior. But, she has overcome a lot and is a great dog! She is great with most dogs, enjoys supervised playgroups, going on walks, and could even do well with a confident cat. Harley would do best with high school aged kids, as she can be timid with new people.

When we say Harley has overcome a lot, we are not kidding. She has completed a board and train program and learned how to be much more confident. Harley has opened up so much with her foster mom and has learned how to sit, stay, come, give paw, wait for cue to eat along alongside her foster mom's dogs, gives high fives when asked, and is working on learning "pretty girl." She is a laid-back, mellow, and very smart. She doesn't bark or talk much, unless the foster mom's dogs are barking.
Harley is treat motivated and very eager to learn. Harley would love a family that would be patient with her until she gets to know them and would love to have another doggie companion to play with in yard in a fenced yard. Harley is not much in to cuddling on couch with you but will follow you everywhere you go and sit close by, especially when you are eating (loves getting scraps/crumbs).

Harley's ideal family would be a compassionate, patient family with a nice size yard. 6ft fencing is highly recommended for when she gets the crazies or zoomies (Harley can jump over a 4ft fence no problem). Harley really likes her kennel especially with a blanket covering it for her to relax in when she feels nervous or tired. She would do great with another companion(s) to play with. Harley also loves car rides, going for walks and hikes, and doing anything outdoors.

If you are interested in adopting Harley, please submit an application located on our website, www.coloradocaninerescue.org. We are asking for a $200.00 adoption donation. Please note, CCR cannot guarantee the breed composition or ages of our dogs, as we usually have no history prior to them entering the shelter. CCR also cannot guarantee no potty accidents will happen even though dog is stated potty trained. It is not uncommon till dog learns new potty routine and gets familiar with new family for this to happen. Please note that CCR cannot hold dogs, arrange meet and greets or adopt out any dogs without a completed and approved adoption application.
