Catana is approximately 3 1/2 yrs old, Lab mix and 50 lbs.

Catana has been through so much in her short life.  We don’t know the details, but we see the effects.  She was found under the floorboards of an abandoned house in Coconut Grove with her 9 puppies.  Catana has a very difficult time trusting people. She shakes and paces when a new person enters her space.  Our trainers and volunteers, as well as, the veterinarian staff continue to work with her and she’s making progress.  However, we see a very different Catana when she’s around another dog.  She LOVES dogs! Catana’s true personality comes out.  She’s playful and gives them kisses.  It’s amazing and wonderful to see her be a dog. This is why we feel it is so important for her to have a canine sibling.  Catana will need a very special foster/adopter.  They will need to be patient and dedicated.
