Hi San Diego, Meet Declan! Declan is a Terripoo mix with a dash of Jack Russel (He has a bit of the JRT look and all of the JRT energy). He was born December of 2018 & weighs about 8-10 lbs. This little guy came to us a little shy and afraid of what the future might hold for him which is understandable after being left alone without parents at such a young age. As he became more comfortable in his foster home, he became your stereotypical puppy. He's extremely energetic, playful, and curious. He will notify you by barking if he has to potty, wants to play or just needs your attention. He is wonderful with other dogs, kids, and both men and women. He does shy away from strangers that want to pet him but he is friendly from afar with a wagging tail for all. He's great in the car, sleeps through the night in his doggy bed and has no issues with food. He hasn't had an accident in the house and will use a potty pad if available. He does wake up early with a positive attitude ready to take on the world!
He will need a committed adopter to take him through his puppy training, be extremely patient with his puppy energy and alert to all mischievousness that they bring into our lives. An ideal home for Declan would be one with experience with the terrier breed, active to drain the puppy energy and 100% commitment to take him through his puppy training. He will continue to be puppyish for the next three - nine months which isn't suitable for every home. If you are looking to start a long-term relationship with a loyal, highly intelligent, but very active little terrier - DECLAN is your man! He is ready to shed his orphan status and find the forever family he deserved from the start! Declan's adoption fee is $300. A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure our pups become the best canine citizens. The training deposit will be refundable within 3 months of the adoption date for pups 4 months and older. For pups younger than 4 months, proof of training is required within 4 months of the adoption date.
