Meet Kaya, a 3yr old female shepherd.  She started out in KY where her owners could no longer care for her so they asked if we could help to find her a Furever Home.  They never told us her original name, but her foster has named her Kaya which means 'pure' in Greek.  That seems to fit her very well indeed.

She's an awesome girl through & through.  Thunderstorms - she'll sleep through them.  Baths - she's compliant with however many times you want to do it.  No issues with cleaning ears or touching any part of her.  Kaya just loves people & doesn't know a stranger.  She's well mannered in the home, listens well, doesn't mind the crate, is not destructive & is easily trainable (but already knows sit, paw, & down).  Her foster says she's a highly intelligent girl.

Kaya weighs in at about 80lbs, so she's not a lightweight.  It seems she would rather be an only dog though.  We were warned that she does not care for dogs smaller than her, but on trail walks she can pull towards other dogs regardless of size occasionally - so we're calling her dog-selective.  We are not certain of her experience with young children as our fosters do not have young kids.  She would be in absolute heaven we think with a fenced yard and she is housetrained.
