Trotting towards you with a toy in her mouth, Ellie is exuberance paws-onified. The trim 25-pound former stray, who was clearly someone’s pet at one time, is active, affectionate, entertaining, and always happy. She loves the closeness of people and the company of other friendly dogs, likes chasing a ball, playing games of tug-o-war and having her bottom scratched by her obliging foster mom. Highly food motivated and eager to please, she knows "sit" and "off" and is learning to sit and wait politely for her food rather than jumping to get at it. She's a curious girl who follows her foster parents room to room to see what they're up to. A great fan of walks, she wears a harness with ease, and although she becomes excited at the sight of other dogs and pulls on her leash, her leash manners are improving daily. Well behaved when loose in the house, she sleeps through the night and is housetrained. Now for Ellie to fully bloom, she needs patient, child-free home and loving adopters, hopefully with another playful dog, to boost her confidence and assure her that she’s truly home fur-ever.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our Adoption Application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you within 48 hours. If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, the next step is to set up a "meet and greet." After meeting the pet, if you would like to proceed with adopting, we'll ask that you read and sign our Adoption Agreement and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.

The adoption fee for this pet is $250 which covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, heartworm test and spay/neuter.
