Towards the end of August we found a cat under our deck. I took it to Sevier Animal Care Center and asked the surrounding shelters and they were full. We didn’t know anything else to do except take her to the vet and try to find her owners or a home. According to the vet she is about a 10yr old domestic short hair cat. When we first found her she was very malnourished and the vet was very concerned with her lab work (they believe it was abnormal bc of severe malnutrition). After being on antibiotics, B12 shot, fluids and gaining nutrients she is doing much better. The only lab work now still slightly elevated is her BUN (kidney). Her Crea (kidney) is high normal. The vet believes she has early onset of kidney disease. We have started her on a special kidney diet provided by Purina -NF Kidney (early stage). The vet said this normally can be managed well with diet and she still has many years left in her opinion. She will need a recheck in 6 months and a dental as she has some tartar build up. She is a very sweet, loving cat. She is litter box trained. She will come with litter box, food to start off with, bed, toys, we had her microchipped, up to date on all vaccines, previously spayed, and FeLV negative. I can provided all her vet records/lab work ect that we’ve completed since we’ve found her. She has lots of love to give and would need to be indoor only kitty :) My mother is allergic so she has been staying in my sister’s air conditioned basement. We named her Summitt after Pat Summitt because we knew she needed a strong name. We are just trying to find this sweet girl a good home.
