Pepper is a Sapsali breed, unique and amazing! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sapsali

    Age 2, 40 lbs

Must have other dog in the home

Must have secure fenced yard (6 foot plus).

Needs a quiet residential area (not urban).

Meet Pepper! She is a very special girl. She has come from a hard beginning but is resilient and awesome and now ready to become a family member!

Pepper is funny, gentle, kind, smart, playful and just about the cutest dog we have ever seen. She came to us as a feral dog in October 2019 and has been through a long rehab program to bring her where she is today.

Pepper LOVES other dogs and can play for hours. She must be in a home with another dog who will want to play with her. It is what makes her happiest. She is still working on her confidence around people and having another dog in the home helps bring her out of her shell. Without another dog to help lead the way for her, she will spend her time hiding from humans.

Pepper is still shy with new people, is head shy with strangers. Once you've earned her trust, she is loyal. Once comfortable, she loves affection, cuddles, brushing and playtime. She is funny, playful, energetic, active and silly. She loves her walks more than anything and she especially loves running. She cannot be off leash at any time, except in a secure fenced yard, as she is still a high flight risk.

Pepper will do best in a home without kids. She does not have a mean bone in her body and would never hurt anyone, but fast moving kids may stress her out.

We would like to see Pepper with an experienced owner who is understanding of her still shy nature and willing to work with her. She is a GOOD girl. We are thrilled to see her progress and are excited to match her with the right forever family.

Pepper is vaccinated and spayed. Her adoption fee is $495. Please submit applications to savinggreatanimals.org

    Pepper's Story

Pepper is a Sapsali from South Korea. She was rescued around 6 months of age in the outskirts of Seoul. Many stray dogs still fall prey to the active dog meat trade in Korea.  When she came to the rescue facility in Korea, it quickly became apparent that she was completely feral and very afraid of people. She spent the next 2 years sitting in a kennel, without any interaction, afraid of even the slightest touch. We learned of Pepper's plight about a year ago and wanted to help her. The opportunity came in October of 2019 when we were able to fly Pepper to Seattle to begin an intensive rehabilitation program. We spent months slowly getting her used to people, to learn to walk on a leash, to discover the world. It took a team of volunteers who worked with her 24/7 three times a day for 4 months to get her ready for adoption.  She is READY and awesome!

Pepper's adoption fee is sponsored for the right home :)
