Benny and Joon are a matching set that would do best in a home together.  Joon is an adult, male, black and white, domestic short hair cat with green eyes and a tipped ear that tells you a bit about his history.  Joon showed up at an outdoor cat feeding station in Denver in 2019 and appeared to be a feral cat.  His caretaker trapped him, took him to the vet for neuter and vaccinations, and returned him to the same area in a process known as TNR.  She continued to care for him over the next year until, during a very cold snap in early 2020 when Joon decided to reveal to her that he was actually a very tame kitty and he was done living outdoors.  He begged her to let him indoors and she brought him to rescue.  His adjustment was remarkable, this guy had clearly been in a home before... but his time on the streets left him with some real fear and a lack of confidence.  He was skittish and spent his first few weeks in the foster home hiding under the bed or behind the dryer.
Benny came to rescue as a very sick, 5 month old kitten. Benny is also a male, and black and white, but he is a domestic long hair and he has gold eyes. After some intense medical care to help him recover, Benny was allowed to roam the foster home and this is when he became friends with Joon and earned his name.  Benny could always be found curled up and snuggling with Joon... behind the dryer or under the bed.  They found comfort in each other during this strange time in their lives.  Since Benny is a kitten and had more recently been in a home, he was much braver and began to play with toys and explore the foster home.  To our amazement, Joon began to follow Benny around and copy his behaviors.  Benny's presence has given Joon the courage to come out of hiding and blossom into a normal cat again!  Joon is still a little shy and will run if he's approached too quickly but he is ready for his forever home...as long as Benny can go with him.  They both do well with other cats and the small dog in the foster home.  A calm home with older children or no kids would best enable Joon to continue building his confidence without hiding.
