Alice is a very special bunny. Her transformation has been nothing short of astonishing. She is enjoying the indoor life after a long time outdoors hiding under decks and garden sheds to evade predators and inclement weather. Alice continues to grow more confident and friendly every day. Her adorable helicopter ears and pretty ruby eyes are a window into her emotions, letting her foster family know whether she’s feeling cautious or relaxed.

Estimated to be at least 5 years old and fully-grown at 7.5lbs, Alice has not led an easy life. Before she was rescued, she even made a cameo appearance at the end of a Rabbit Advocates Rescue Dispatch video in June of 2020. Always curious about the world around her, she stopped by to see what the Rescue Team was doing. She was caught by a kind couple in the neighborhood in August of 2020. Her rescuer couldn’t bear to leave Alice out on the street any longer and made it her mission to bring Alice to safety. After living in an outdoor hutch initially in the Fall of 2020, Alice was finally able to become a house rabbit.

Alice lives in a foster home with three young bunny-savvy children and a puppy. She seems content to sit in a comfy spot and watch all the action. She would love to have a cozy corner near a window in a warm, patient home that will allow her to explore at her own pace. She prefers soft flooring with traction, and may not venture out onto hardwood or tile floors. She is technically a bunny with "special needs" because she cannot eat any fresh greens, must take bunny-safe probiotics, and a vet checkup every 6-9 months is recommended. She is healthy and happy, and she just needs someone who understands that trauma can take awhile to heal. She has definitely seen other abandoned pet rabbits meet untimely ends, and she has spent a lot of her life feeling afraid until recently. She needs to find an adoptive home who understands that recovery can take awhile, and that there is always a new day on the horizon.

Do you have room in your heart and your home to welcome Alice into your life? She is a true “rescue rabbit” who deserves the very best. She’s worth it.
