Meet GHOST! This handsome fellow was a stray, feral cat living in Vint Hill, Fauquier County. He is one resilient guy who spent his whole life living in a drain, dodging coyotes, skunks and urban development. Volunteers fed and cared for him but he would never allow them to pet him. For NINE years they continued showing him love and kindness until FINALLY in the past year, they were able to win his trust and teach him how to love people. Since this time Ghost's disposition has changed completely. He now soaks up human attention and gives wet kisses in return, we believe he would love to live out his years as an indoor lap-cat. Due to the challenges and dangers he faced from his outdoor life, he unfortunately acquired Feline Immunodefficiency Virus (FIV). Even though he is FIV+, he is still healthy and would love nothing more than to find a loving forever home. Ghost would be delighted to be an indoor cat with a lot of attention in a medium to quiet home. Won’t you come meet this exceptional fellow in his Flint Hill foster home? We do not have a fixed adoption fee at For The Cats' Sake, but instead ask for a tax-deductible donation to our group. On average, we spend at least $125 to cover foster care, testing for FeLV and FIV, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming and any vet care/medicine that is needed. We ask that you cover as much of the $125 as you can afford, and set a minimum donation at $50. Our goal is to find the best home for each animal, and we feel this policy makes it possible for more people to adopt one or more cats. It is important to us that every adopter can afford to care for their pets properly and give them a home for life.
