Hi, I'm  Guinness ! I am a two-and-a-half-year old long coat German Shepherd. I am a beautiful and good-natured boy who hasn't had the best start in life. I came to the shelter in 2020 when I was still under a year old, because I was abandoned by my owner. I was stressed out at the shelter, then when I finally got to a new home I ended up showing territorial aggression to people who entered the home because I didn't have clear structure and wasn't sure who to trust. Since then, things have been looking up! I came to stay with a trainer who has taught me that I can trust my handler, and that with appropriate introductions at my pace, I can meet new people and don't have to worry about them. Though I will probably always be territorial (I am a German Shepherd after all!), I have made lots of new friends. I would love an experienced, adult-only home that allows me to be the fun loving dog that I am! That means pools and puddles to splash around in, playing flirt pole games, stuffy toys that I like to sleep with, going on long walks in nature, and being groomed and loved on by my owners. It would be best if there is not a lot going on outside my window, no sidewalks and people walking by, so that my territorial instincts aren't triggered too often. A country setting would be ideal for me. If you pick me to join your family, I will reward you daily with my loyalty, love and fun-loving personality. I come with ongoing training support. All I need now is for you to find me and bring me home!
