Porky, at 9 months of age, is paws-itively blooming in his foster home! Rescued by Good Samaritans from an abusive situation on an out-of-state ranch and transported here, the sweet 25-pound caramel cutie, who’s currently more of a “mama’s boy,” is easygoing and calm, and loves cuddling and snuggling with her and resting his head on her. Learning all about the joy of playing with toys, he also likes hiding them, chewing on bones, and going for walks, walking well on leash (he might make an excellent exercise partner). Spirited and spunky, Porky especially enjoys engaging with his similar-sized doggy foster friend, frisking and frolicking about and even eating from the same bowl at the end of the day. After recently meeting some family members, including two youngsters, he not only got along wonderfully with them, he was soon snuggling with the children and playing with toys together. Motivated by food and love, he presently knows “come,” “down” and “no,” accepts all treats gently, and is crate trained and almost fully house-trained. Now Porky hopes to find love in an active adoptive home, preferably with a securely fenced yard, perhaps with another dog his size, that will complete his training, including his commands, in exchange for his own abundant loyalty and love. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) . If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.

The adoption fee for this pet is $425.  Our adoption fee covers the following:

Spay/neuter

Microchip

DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption.

Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption.

Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!
