Akira abounds with an enviable zest for life! At 8 months of age, this precious 32-pound puppy was rescued by Good Samaritans from an abusive situation on an out-of-state ranch and transported here. Safely settled in her foster home, she’s sweet, easygoing and calm, adores her fosters’ attention, and loves cuddling and snuggling with them as much and as often as paws-ible. As active as she is affectionate, she loves playing with two of her canine foster friends, running and chasing each other around and wrestling with them all of the time. She also loves going for walks with them, improving her leash skills daily, and will likely be a wonderful outdoors and hiking companion. Passionate about toys, Akira not only loves playing with them, she loves spreading them out everywhere, and moving blankets and small dog beds to new locations in the house. Motivated by toys, love and food, she “sits” patiently for her treats, accepting them gently, and seems to get along with the resident cats. Crate trained and almost fully house-trained, Akira will thrive in an active home preferably with a yard, perhaps another playful pup, and loving adopters to complete her training, including her commands, and ensure that she’s mentally and physically fulfilled fur-ever.
 

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. 

The adoption fee for this pet is $425.  Our adoption fee covers the following:

Microchip

DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption.

Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption.
