Meet Abby - Abby is a very special little girl, a senior with lots more life and love to give!  According to her foster mom, Abby loves as much affection and attention as you can lavish on her.  She's a happy girl, active enough for her 8 years, loves children, has done well with the other dogs in her foster home though she has a tendency to be an ankle biter with the big dogs only! The cats, she ignores.  Abby would be thrilled to be a purse dog - she loves to go on adventures and loves to be with people - she literally could go anywhere and be happy.  Abby is also completely pee pad trained - and that's what she prefers.  Abby would do great in a family with kids who are "pet-aware" enough to be gentle based on her size - she's very sweet with them.  Or she would make a great companion for a single or senior who may have grand children who stop by.  Either way, she's looking for a best friend and a home to call her own.  As with any new dog, Abby will need time to adjust to her new life and surroundings.  Abby has been fully vetted, received a complete dental exam and cleaning, and is up to date on her vaccines.  Abby has a bit of a wonky back leg - evidently, as a young girl she had an injury to her hip and it wobbles a bit.  After extensive examinations, x-rays, and bloodwork by our veterinary partner, they have found that Abby is in no pain, has no underlying condition, and surgery to fix it would simply put her in unnecessary pain.  They believe she has adapted to the way her hip healed and would not operate or treat.  We concur - she's loving life right now - but still wishes for a home of her own!
