Joe was picked up as a stray down in southern VA. He was in poor health, with a bad cough, heartworm positive and had a pretty severe heart murmur. The animal control officer felt that despite his health issues, Joe was pretty awesome and deserved a chance at a good life, no matter how long that might be. She asked us if we could help Joe and we couldn't say no. We took him to the cardiologist and started him on several heart meds. He was cleared to be treated for his heartworms which was fantastic! Joe has completed his treatment and was recently neutered. He's doing great and is looking for a foster or permanent home so he can live the life he so richly deserves. Joe is guessed to be 9-10 yrs old and 35-40 lbs. He is such a sweet boy!
