Special Needs? Wanda is up to date on vaccines for her age. She is not spayed due to age and size. Wanda's mom is a standard poodle / cocker spaniel mix. Her dad is a very large golden retriever. She is NOT hypoallergenic and will shed.
Weight: 25 lbs and growing - we expect Wanda will be between 45-55 pounds when full grown.
Height: 17 in and growing - we expect Wanda will be between 22-24 inches when full grown.
Spayed/Neutered: No. Wanda will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to spay her within 12 months at your cost and provide proof of neuter.

    Adoption Fee: $299

Fence needed? Yes, Wanda is going to be a large dog. She requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller.

What kind of home would be best for me? Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically. What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! While our ideal home for puppies has another young dog in it, Wanda could be adopted to a home where he is the only dog as long as there is a solid plan for regular socialization a minimum of 4 times per week.

Socialization occurs when dogs are off leash and free to be themselves, unencumbered by human restraints (other than the fence that keeps them safely contained). Socialization times would be for instance, inviting a neighbor or friend over with their dog to play in your fenced yard or going to someone else’s home to play in their fence yard. Socialization time could be doggy daycare. Socialization time could be a group walk if you include a playtime at the end of it. Training classes do not always include socialization time. Some puppy classes do include a period of time at the end where the dogs can romp and play together. This would be perfectly acceptable. Time can also take place inside the home, it does not have to be an outdoor area, as long as the dogs are free to interact with each other without leashes or other restraints.

When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can!

What is my personality like? Happy, excitable, eager to learn - Wanda is a baby exploring the world! The most important thing for Wanda is that her adopter(s) is happy excited, and ready to take on loving and training their new puppy. As a puppy she will need to be taught everything, from walking on a leash to basic commands to potty training. Wanda, as noted above, is like a newborn and every experience is new to her. You will be her human parent and her teacher. You will be her world!

Wanda is becoming a very playful girl, and she loves people. She is very good on a leash and well behaved. Wanda LOVES the water - hot or cold she did not care she wonted to be in it with a big ole log! She loves big sticks; the biggest ones she could find not the little ones. This girl is definitely ready to adventure!

Wanda is an interesting breed mix. Her mom is a standard poodle / cocker spaniel mix (not your average sized cockapoo for sure!). Her dad is a very large (100 lb) golden retriever. We've met both of the parents. They are both well-mannered dogs and very sweet.

How do I act when I first meet new people? I'm a puppy, I LOVE everybody! Come play with me!

Other tips and tidbits: Wanda was born on 5/27/2024.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
