Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.

A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.

Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.

Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list.

    thanks

    Date into Rescue:12/3/2024
Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Bingo is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Bingo has grade 3 hip dysplasia which is causing pain and weakness in his rear. He is not a candidate for surgery at this time according to our veterinary partner. He will be on pain medicine for the rest of his life and will require regular check-ups.  He is currently on gabapentin (pain control) and carprofen (non steroidal anti inflammatory).  These medications have significantly improved his life and behavior. He approaches humans for affection.  He enjoys the company of other dogs.  It has changed his world.
    Weight: 53 lbs
    Height: 24 in
    Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Adoption Fee: $1 - Bingo has special needs and is looking for a special home

Fence needed? Yes, Bingo requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller.

What kind of home would be best for me?  Bingo has spent most of his life in a breeding environment and has such had very little human interaction prior to arriving in rescue. He's made TREMENDOUS progress over the last 4 months. While he is still a little timid approaching new people, if you are on his level and give him time he is all yours. He will dance around and maybe bark and wiggle at you but not quite get within arm's reach.

Bingo needs an adopter who can provide patience, time, and love. He will need a special person who can offer him a safe and loving environment. Bingo requires someone with an endless well of understanding, and someone who is committed to helping him grow into the confident, loving companion he’s meant to be.

Bingo requires another large, confident dog in the home. He's never known life without canine companionship. And he needs a confident companion that will continue to teach and offer positive behavioral modeling. Bingo is not suited for a home with young children; he is still learning that humans are okay and needs calm and consistent. Bingo would be suitable for a home with older teenage children who understand he may need space and time to adjust.

Bingo needs a home that understands he will always walk differently and is never going to be a marathon runner. Mobility may get more difficult as he ages.

What is my personality like? Bingo was surrendered into rescue via his breeder. He's had very little life experience in his first 4 years, outside of breeding and living with other dogs. Everything about being a pet is new. You will teach him all that he knows.

Bingo will also need help learning the basics, such as walking on a leash and queues like sit, down, stay, and come. Bingo is shy and curious but is making great strides in developing his confidence. He’s still learning how to interact with people and female dogs, but when he feels comfortable, he enjoys playing with female dogs he likes.

Like a delicate flower, Bingo will need time to bloom and thrive in his new home. If you have the time, patience, and most of all, the love to nurture him, your efforts will be richly rewarded with a loyal, loving dog who will become your devoted companion.

How do I act when I first meet new people? Bingo is cautious and may not approach you right away. When meeting new people, it’s important to give him time and space to adjust to the situation. After a few minutes, he will typically allow a sniff of you hand. Bingo needs to move at his own pace and build trust in his own time.

Other tips and tidbits: Bingo's' birthday is 3/19/2021

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.

    Thank you for considering CPR.
