Amber | 3-Year-Old Mixed Breed | 40 lbs of Gentle, Golden Sweetness

With her sleek amber coat and soulful eyes, it’s easy to see how Amber got her name. This 3-year-old beauty started off shy but has truly blossomed in her foster home, revealing an incredibly sweet, gentle, and loving nature.

At a healthy 40 pounds, Amber is calm and submissive with the other dogs in the home and reads social cues like a pro. She loves the companionship of her canine friends and even does great with cats—she barely pays them any mind!

Amber is happiest in the comfort of home, where her goofy side shines. She isn’t a fan of going out in public just yet, but at home she’s a silly, affectionate girl who enjoys morning cuddle time, resting her head on her foster parents, and rolling over for belly rubs. She’s learning just how wonderful it feels to be loved.

She knows “come” and, thanks to her intelligence and desire to please, she’s picking up new skills quickly. Amber is leash trained, crate trained, and almost fully house-trained.

Amber would thrive in a calm, patient home with adopters who understand that trust takes time—and are willing to give her the love and space she needs to continue building confidence. In return, she’ll offer quiet devotion, gentle affection, and a love that runs deep.

If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.

The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following:

Spay/neuter

Microchip

DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.

Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!

Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.

PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/

Our adoption process is:

1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.

2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
