Meet Bell Pepper – A Spicy but Sweet Work in Progress! ï¸âœ¨
Bell Pepper is a big, beautiful orange-and-white tabby with a curious mind and a cautious heart. While he may not be a lap cat (and probably never will be), he’s an endearing companion for someone who appreciates a more independent feline friend. He startles easily and isn’t a huge fan of being pet—but he does like to sleep tucked between your legs at night, and there’s something quietly sweet about having him nearby, even if he prefers a little personal space.

Bell Pepper’s favorite part of the day? When the windows open. He’ll come running the second he hears them slide, eager to watch birds, people, leaves, and anything else happening on the street. He could spend hours perched by the window, completely enthralled by the world outside.

And while he’s shy around people, this boy loves to play. Feather toys with jingles are his favorite, and he’s got a special move: hiding toy mice under the rug so he can dramatically "rescue" them later. (If your rug’s a little crumpled, now you know why—and honestly, who could be mad at that face?)

Bell Pepper does have some mobility issues in his back legs—he’s a little wobbly but gets around just fine. He’ll appreciate low-entry litter boxes and accessible cozy spots to curl up in. He might not climb onto your lap, but he willclimb to a perch to oversee his kingdom from above.

Bell Pepper is looking for a patient, understanding home where he can feel safe, enjoy his window time, and be himself—quirky, shy, playful, and slowly building trust. If you have a quiet home and a gentle spirit, Bell Pepper might just be your perfect low-key companion. He also gets along wonderfully with other cats and would likely thrive in a home with a confident feline friend to show him the ropes—and maybe even share a sunny window perch.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

    • $300 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes.  These "guardian kittens" help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
    • $200 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes.  These "guardian cats" help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
    • $200 for kittens (6 months & under)
    • $125 for cats (older than 6 months)
    • $75 for senior cats (8 years or older)

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application  here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!

Please email cats@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time.

PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/

    Our adoption process is:

    1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.

    2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
