‼️‼️ DOLLY UPDATE & FOSTER NEEDED ASAP‼️‼️
Update - 2/25/25 - Dolly saw our vet on Saturday and it was determined she had a severe break that needed surgery asap to save the leg! After a very difficult surgery Dr. Dean was finally able to get the bone back together and she was released to go home this morning! She’s reacting and doing well but has a long road to recovery ahead of her! We still would love to get this girl into a new foster home!
‼️‼️ FOSTER & DONATIONS NEEDED ASAP!! ‼️‼️
2/20/25 Today our Spay & Neuter Project assisted in vetting a sweet pup named, Dolly! She was taken in a few months back by a Good Samaritan. She was severely emaciated and the shelter in her area wouldn’t assist due to her being in the county and not the city limits. Over the last few months, this lady has nursed sweet Dolly back to a healthy weight. She reached out to us a few weeks back about our spay and neuter project and we got her in the program and had this girl spayed today. Sadly, her vet visit wasn’t all that great and Dolly has some pretty big medical issues that need to be addressed asap! After talking with the finder, we learned she has reached out many times to different places and hasn’t even gotten a response. She desperately wants help for Dolly but doesn’t have the means for her. She’s willing to foster Dolly if need be but she has multiple other animals and Dolly could really benefit from a more experienced foster and one where she can be a fully indoor pup.
At her vet visit today, we learned that one of Dolly’s rear legs is over double the size of the other. After speaking with the finder, she said Dolly has always had a limp that she couldn’t afford to treat but the swelling is a new issue and now Dolly is non weight bearing on that leg! When they pulled the tube from surgery today it was also covered in blood. They thought this was possibly from advanced heartworms so we had them go ahead and do a heartworm test but that was negative. THANK GOODNESS! So at this point, we are truly unsure what is really going on with this girl, as she was at a spay and neuter clinic that has very little diagnostic capabilities.
We would love to get this girl into a secure foster home and get her in with our regular vet ASAP!
Dolly is 40 lbs of pure love and the sweetest soul. She’s beyond deserving of this help.
All pictures are from her vet visit today except the on where she is skin and bones…. That was when she was found by the Good Samaritan. You can see by these pictures just how sweet and gentle this girl is and the size difference of her legs.
