Meet Bessie | 1 Year Old | 38 lbs | Playful, Sweet, and Ready for Her Second Chance

Bessie is a gentle soul with a heart full of hope and a growing sense of confidence. At just a year old and a sleek 38 pounds, this sweet and slightly shy girl is learning how wonderful life can be in a loving foster home — and she’s ready to continue that journey with a forever family of her own.

Once she feels safe and settled, Bessie’s joyful, playful personality shines. She LOVES her toys and can entertain herself for hours tossing them around, and she especially enjoys a good game of tug with her foster mom. Fetch? Absolutely. Snuggles? Even better — particularly if it means burrowing under the blankets in her foster mom’s home office.

Agile and athletic, Bessie thrives on two to three long walks a day and walks beautifully on leash. While she prefers slow, thoughtful introductions to other dogs, she has done well with calm, friendly pups in the past and would benefit from a confident adopter willing to support her continued socialization. She’s also wonderfully polite with human visitors and recently made fast friends with everyone at a local brewery!

Smart and eager to please, Bessie already knows “sit” and “no,” is almost fully crate trained, and is making excellent progress with house-training. She’s motivated by toys and food (chicken is her love language!) and is a quick learner.

What She’s Looking For:
An active, patient home where she can continue to build confidence, grow in her training, and receive the love and reassurance she craves. A yard to play in or fun walks to explore would be icing on the cake!

Bessie is ready to blossom. All she needs is someone who sees how special she is — and is ready to give her the second chance she’s been waiting for.

 

If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. 

The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following:

Spay/neuter

Microchip

DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. 

Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.
