Clooney has a sweet and lovable demeanor and is quite playful. He will set a toy on a surface in front of you and put his face flat on that surface with his mouth near the toy, signaling that it is time for you to pick it up and play. He loves to play fetch, and he will actually bring the ball back to you! He loves squeaky toys of all kinds, and tug of war is another game he loves. He will play for hours, both with or without you.

Clooney is mostly housebroken, but he wears a belly band in the house. He walks very well on a leash, staying close and not pulling. He sleeps in a kennel at night, but he had some kennel trauma at a previous rescue, so he is lured into the kennel with a treat, and the door isn’t shut until he enters completely by himself.

Clooney gets along very well with his foster family’s dogs (one large and one small). He has been great with every adult he has met, but he particularly loves to follow his foster dad everywhere. He hasn’t been observed around children, but children old enough to have appropriate behavior with dogs should be fine. He is VERY interested in a cat who recently returned from college with the cat’s person, but the cat refuses to get near anyone except his person, so Clooney’s behavior with cats is unknown. Clooney recently had surgery in both eyes to repair issues from previous cherry eye surgeries. His recovery is going very well, but he won’t be available for adoption until he is cleared by the veterinary ophthalmologist.

    Fenced yard is preferred.

I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
