Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.

A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.

Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.

Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list.

    thanks

    Date into Rescue: 5/5/2025
Reason for being in rescue: Owner surrender /can't care for
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Violet has very deep-set eyes that need cleaned regularly. She has been spayed, up to date on routine vaccinations and is microchipped and heartworm negative.
    Weight: 40 lbs est.
Height: 23 in at the shoulder est
    Spayed/Neutered: Yes

    Adoption Fee: $599

Fence needed? No, but it would be a great safety feature for Violet.  Violet is somewhat shy and unsure of this whole brave new world.  She has never lived without a fenced in yard so this would have to be gone over together to see if your lifestyle would work for her without a fence.

What kind of home would be best for me? Violet would do well with a single person, a couple, or a family. Her main request is that someone be home with her most—or ideally all—of the day.  This is what she has been accustomed to.  She thrives on companionship, playtime, and attention, and she truly wants to be part of your everyday life.

A home with a fenced-in yard would be ideal so she can safely run and play. Violet gets along wonderfully with other dogs, so if you already have a pup, she’d love having a built-in buddy and mentor but it's not a firm requirement. Violet loves all dogs and cats. That said, her playful energy means any resident cats should be dog-savvy and tolerant of her enthusiasm.

Are you ready to welcome Violet into your heart and home? Come see her today!

What is my personality like? Violet is a beautiful, active standard poodle looking for her forever home. She came to us along with her buddy, Lucky, after their elderly owner realized that caring for two large dogs was more than she was able to do.  She was sent to us with love and hope for a better future.  Violet is now ready to find a home where she can thrive.

Violet is still learning her basic manners and will need continued training on cues like sit, stay, and come, as well as leash walking. The good news - she’s smart, treat-motivated, and eager to please—making training a fun and rewarding experience. With consistency and positive reinforcement, she’ll blossom into an even more confident and well-mannered companion.

She is housebroken and knows to potty outside, though she may submissively urinate when entering new spaces or meeting new people. This is common and manageable with patience and gentle introductions. Violet is the type of dog who wants to be by your side for everything, whether it’s a mountain adventure or a quick coffee run. (Pup cup, anyone!) She has a gentle spirit and just wants to be your best friend.

Violet can be a bit sensitive or “ticklish” during grooming or vet visits, so she’ll need a gentle touch and a patient approach from both professionals and her future family. Violet is a sweet, devoted girl with so much love to give. She’s looking for a home where she can be active, engaged, and most importantly - loved. If you're searching for a loyal companion who will bring joy, laughter, and lots of cuddles into your life, you’ve found her.

How do I act when I first meet new people? Violet may submissively pee if the encounter is in a new enclosed space. She will then happily approach you for loving pets and play just as she does when she’s outside and spots you. She’s a wonderful girl!

Other tips and tidbits: Violet’s birthday is on or about 2/5/2021.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.

    Thank you for considering CPR.
