When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.
Hello, my name is Apollo Phoebus, and I'm a three year old big boy who came to FRGSR from a shelter that was tight on space and I was running out of time. Thank goodness I was one of the lucky ones to make it out alive! I'm a little underweight, but my foster parents are feeding me regular meals, so I may top out at 85-95lbs. I'm living with a little Frenchie and we're getting along just fine. I'm learning some basic obedience and my foster dad says I'm a quick learner who responds to praise as well as verbal correction. I've already learned to walk nicely on leash, and I prefer the "heel" position as opposed to yanking and pulling my handler. I've done well in a crate at bedtime, but if I'm crated during the day, I can get vocal to the point of almost howling, so I may not be a good fit for applicants who live in an apartment or multi-family dwelling. My dad says I will likely never be an "alpha" type of dog in a home with other dogs. I'm just a big, happy velcro dog who wants somebody to love and care for me. Is that you? If you're interested, please go to adoptagsd.org and submit an online application. My adoption fee is $400.
