Mary likes some dogs but not others so a meet and greet would be necessary if you have a dog.

Mary came to us from a rescue group in a small town. They were full and needed help. Mary was in a home for years then got returned to this rescue when the family dynamics changed. Mary is so gorgeous!!! She looks like a pure bred Basset Hound. The family said she was house broke.

Mary loves people, loves being petted, loves being near her people. However, Mary does NOT do well with all dogs and she does not do well with cats. She would not be a dog that you would take to the dog park or doggy day care because she doesn't like ALL dogs and has to meet new ones to be sure. Mary is so worth the time to meet and fall in love with. She is a loving baby that is looking for her forever family.

Mary is in boarding waiting for a foster home to become available so we don't know how house broke she might be. She keeps her area soil free and this is a great sign she would be house broke.......but we can't say for sure. Our 2 week trial helps families that are interested in adopting her find out how much if any retraining she might need.

Mary is a scent dog and follows her nose, especially when walking on a leash....she tugs quite a bit and needs a no pull harness or obedience classes to help her and her new family.....they are both worth it.

Mary is a Basset and will talk to you in her hound bay (bark) to let you know how she feels. She doesn't bark all the time ,just when she feels she needs to tell you something.....if you are in love with the Basset bay then Mary is your furry kid......just give her a chance. Mary is going to make some family a wonderful companion.
