Sophie is available for adoption through Colorado Canine Rescue, a nonprofit rescue in the Denver area. She is a sweet little girl who was originally adopted out as a puppy in 2013 and was just returned back to our group because she didn’t care for the infant grandchild. We are guessing her age to be 4-5 years old and hew breed to be a Chihuahua mix.

Sophie loves to cuddle on you lap or a soft blanket.  She is a low energy girl who enjoys a small amount of play time with other dogs and toys.  She loves to go on walks, but does not need a lot of exercise.  Sophie is kennel trained, but will likely not need one in her forever home.  She is potty trained in her foster home with a doggie door.  Sophie has done well meeting new people, but prefers calmer people.  Sophie loved being around older children, but shouldn’t be around young children due to her history and her desire for a quiet, calm home.  Sophie has done well around all dogs, but feels more comfortable with dogs her size.

Sophie would love a forever home that is fairly calm.  She should do fine in a home with or without other dogs.  Sophie would love her new home to take her on frequent walks or chores to get out of the house (she did great at home depot!).  She should do fine in a home or apartment.  No small children, please.

If you are interested in adopting Sophie, please submit an adoption application located on our website, coloradocaninerescue.org. We are asking for a $200 adoption donation.  She is spayed, housebroken, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.  Please note, CCR cannot guarantee the breed composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have no history prior to them entering the shelter. In addition, most dogs listed as potty trained will experience an adjustment period as they learn the routines in their new home.
