DORY was adopted as a kitten and sadly returned to us as an adult when her adopters moved out of state to a location where they could not take her —they said she was the greatest cat ever...
We hope to find DORY a forever home this 2nd time around. She has been an inside/outside pet, and always comes in at night like a good girl. She had a very close bond with the family dog (also left behind) so we think she would get on with most dogs. Dory is loving and intelligent.
We do not have a fixed adoption fee at For The Cats' Sake, but instead ask for a tax-deductible donation. On average, we spend about $125 to prepare a cat or kitten for adoption, which includes testing for FeLV and FIV, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, vet care, medicine and spay/neuter (if old enough). We set a minimum donation at $50 and just ask adopters to cover more of the $125 if can afford it. Our goal is to find the best home for each animal, and we feel this policy makes it possible for more people to adopt one or more of our cats. It is also important to us that every adopter can afford to care for their pets properly and intend to give them a home for life.
