DORY was adopted as a kitten and sadly returned to us as an adult when her adopters moved out of state to a location where they could not take her —they told us she was the greatest cat ever...

We hope to find DORY a forever home this time around because she is a wonderful cat. Mellow, friendly, playful and smart. She has been living with a family of 5 children, so is a good family cat, and she's an inside/outside pet. We think she needs her outside time to be happy, but she always comes when called and is a good girl, not wandering off. She also had a very close bond with the family dog so would most likely get along with other cat friendly dogs. If anyone was able to take her and another cat, she has a best friend called FOXIE who is also in our care, and they like to play with one another.

We do not have a fixed adoption fee at For The Cats' Sake, but instead ask for a tax-deductible donation. On average, we spend about $125 to prepare a cat or kitten for adoption, which includes testing for FeLV and FIV, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, vet care, medicine and spay/neuter (if old enough). We set a minimum donation at $50 and just ask adopters to cover more of the $125 if can afford it. Our goal is to find the best home for each animal, and we feel this policy makes it possible for more people to adopt one or more of our cats. It is also important to us that every adopter can afford to care for their pets properly and intend to give them a home for life.
