Meet Bella! Bella is a 2.5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier Mix that has been in a foster home awaiting for her forever family for over a year. Bella is almost completely blind, but that doesn't stop her from being very active and doing all the things she loves. She walks nicely on a lead, but prefers grass, dirt, or sidewalks to other manmade materials like brick or metal. As you might  guess because she sees with her nose, she likes to smell EVERYTHING. Bella is particularly fond of children, apples, and carrots. Bella lives happily with other dogs in her foster home and would do fine with a dog-savvy cat. She LOVES to play with other dogs! She thrives on toys and play that are mentally stimulating and interactive. Bella knows some basic commands, like "sit", "down", and "settle." She will offer you her paw to shake if she feels like it. She is working on "STAY," but she doesn't particularly like her people wandering off, since she can't see where they have gone. She is crate-trained. A home with minimal stairs, or a place  where she could remain on a single floor, would be ideal for Bella, but she is able to learn short flights of stairs with practice!
