***PUPDATE***The DNA results are in!  Tucker is 75% American Staffordshire Terrier, 12.5% American Bulldog and 12.5% "other" (likely Shepherd and/or Lab).  Since Tucker's is already a big boy and he's not even a year old yet we think his size must be coming from the American Bulldog part of his family tree.  One thing is certain: Tucker is very bright and very affectionate and will make someone an awesome family companion.

***PUPDATE***Tucker's skin continues to improve and he is steadily gaining weight!  He has gained a total of 8 lbs in his two weeks with us.  It is amazing what quality food and TLC can do!   Tucker's foster mom reports that he is VERY smart and he has picked up some basic commands pretty easily.  He's a very sweet boy who is friendly with everyone he meets.

Six-month-old Tucker (formerly known as Elm) arrived at the shelter as an emaciated stray with some really inflamed skin.  When we first met him he didn't look so good but his caretakers at the shelter took good care of him until we could get him out of there.  When we picked him up his skin was already looking much better and he had gained 3 pounds!!  We have him on a good-quality grain free food and under the loving care of his foster family we are sure that he will continue to gain weight and his skin will improve as well.  He needs to gain some weight and we're working on fixing that asap.  He easily passed his shelter evaluation:  he is friendly and gets along with other dogs.  He is being fostered with a well-behaved female pittie who will, no doubt, get him up to speed on proper doggie etiquette.  His energy level is very typical for his age but he is able to focus and is eager to please.  His foster family will work with him on leash manners as he does want to pull but he'll get the hang of it soon, we're sure.  We look forward to updating Tucker's bio as he settles in and shows us who he is and the kind of family he's looking for.
