Hi, my name is Lacey, and my foster mom says I am the sweetest, cuddliest pup! I was rescued from a shelter in Texas, and they think I’m somewhere between 6 and 10 months old. They tell me I look like a shepherd/beagle mix, but I don’t really care what that means. I just want someone to love me, and I give so much love back! I love taking long naps and cuddling on the couch,  and I'm really good about sleeping in my crate at night. I don't like being locked up, so my foster mom leaves the crate door open so I can walk out and stretch my legs if I need to, but mostly because then I don’t feel like I’m caged in, which makes me feel more relaxed. While I’m really good at sleeping and cuddling, I also love to run around the yard. I’m really fast, and I’m learning to play fetch! I really need a big yard to run around to burn off some of my energy. My anxiety levels are best when I can get a good run in the yard each day. I love ‘my people’ but get anxiety around strangers or other dogs, so I like to bark at them to let them know I’m the tough guy (but really, I’m a softy and wouldn’t hurt a fly). My foster mom says she’s working with me on this, and keeps telling me I’m okay. I think I’m starting to warm up to everyone else, I LOVE playing with other dogs once I meet them. I really just like being home with family, and I’m told I’m the most perfect girl in the house. I’m potty trained, I have never chewed anything up, and I love carrying around my toys to show everyone how cute I am.

I have a lot of separation anxiety and I’m scared of being abandoned again, so I’d do best in a home with another dog, and/or a mom/dad that can be home with me all day. I like having the sense of security to feel safe, and then I return the favor with love and cuddles.

Won’t you give me a chance? I have so much love to give!

Contact your caseworker to meet Lacey. She arrived to her foster in Virginia on March 22nd.
