Hi, my name is Duke and I'm 8 year old German Shepherd! My dad was SchH3 trained and my mom was pure bred as well. I'm very smart and driven. I'm a super good dog and I love my family more than anything...especially my three human brothers who are 5, 3 and 1. I have a cat sister and I think I love her more than she loves me! My mommy and daddy know I will always watch out for them and our home! I'm very protective, but great if introduced properly to new people.

I love to  run around and play catch in my back yard, going to the lake and swimming and playing hide and seek with my favorite stuffed animal!

I've had a lot of training and I'm awesome at all of my commands (sit, down, place, heel and off). I don't have separation anxiety, but prefer to be with my family! I'm great when I go to the groomer, vet and doggie day care and everyone always tells my mommy what a handsome boy I am.

Although I'm 8, I still have a lot of energy so I need a strong, confident handler, someone who can keep me active and working on something. I can't wait to meet my new family and hope they know how much I will love them!!

I am being fostered in Charlotte, NC. If you are Interested in being my forever family and live in VA, NC and MD please complete the on line application at www.southeastgermanshepherdrescue.com or contact your adoption coordinator.

Our adoption process consists of a telephone interview, a call to your veterinarian and a home visit. If you have any questions about the adoption process please contact sgsrtreasurer@gmail.com .
