Special Considerations: It is recommended that Skyla go to a home with a 2nd dog. However, adopters who are experienced dog owners with children 12 and older, and who can commit to making sure Skyla gets daily interactions with other dogs (such as at doggie daycare or dog parks) would be a great fit, too! 

Hi! I'm Skyla! I'm a 2-year-old Labrador mix, and rather petite for my breed at only 30.8 lbs! I am currently living with a wonderful foster family with school-aged children and two other dogs, but I sure would like a forever home... maybe with you?

I can't wait for you to take me on walks and to dog-friendly stores (because I LOVE going to the pet supply store!)! As you can see, this country girl's also developed quite a taste for Starbucks puppachinos! Yum-yum!!  I'd also love going to your local dog park, where I can play with other dogs and have a high ol' time running around and getting my spizz out! On the other hand, all that running around sure makes a girl tired, so I look forward to cuddling up with you, too, while you're watching a little Netflix or getting the fire pit started up. I'm a bit of a clown, so I'll be sure to keep you laughing with my burrowing under the covers, as you can see in the photo to the side. Don't I look pretty?

I'm a tiny bit on the reserved side at first, but I warm up quickly--particularly when there are other dogs around or when you give me a scritch behind the ears. If you already have a dog, that would be ideal, so that I can have a friend to show me the ropes and help me be an even braver girl! If you don't already have a dog, but your kids are older and you can commit to taking me to doggie daycare or the dog park everyday, that would be awesome, too! Taking an obedience class with you would help me brush up on my manners and build confidence, which would be so fun! I haven't been tested with cats yet, but we can certainly arrange that if we need to!

Like most shelter dogs, Skyla may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.
