Hi! I'm Anna! I'm a 4-year-old, 65-pound Hound mix, and I'm looking for my new forever family... maybe that's with you?

At 4 years old, you can be certain my crazy puppy days are FAR behind me! I like long walks, lounging around on the couch with you while you're watching TV or reading a good book, and keeping you company on your drives here and there! Now that Winter's here, I'm looking forward to romping around in some crunchy leaves, maybe going along with you to a dog-friendly farm or hiking trail, or maybe running around in the SNOW!!! However, I have a LOT of energy, y'all! I will need a lot of exercise, and I can climb fences, so it's important you make sure I'm never off-leash, and that I'm ALWAYS monitored in the backyard.

I made my TV debut recently on Good Morning Washington during Lucky Dog's "Twelve Dogs of Christmas" feature, and boy, did I have fun! I was great in the car on the way to the studio, I loved meeting EVERYONE (including a 1-year-old girl!), and I even demonstrated how I can "Sit" and "Shake!" So exciting!

I play well with my dog friends, but I'm not a huge fan of cats, so if you have 'em, I might not be the best fit for you. I've LOVED meeting kids at the adoption events, though... maybe I'd love yours, too? I'm REALLY hoping you'll sign me up for an adult obedience class so I can improve my manners and show you what a polite young lady I can be--plus, that sounds like a lot of fun!

So, what are you waiting for? Are you ready for a high energy lady like me? Submit an application for me today!

Like most shelter dogs, Anna may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

Anna has tested positive and has been treated for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz K. at lizk@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
