8 month old 15 lb. Beagle Chi mix

OLLIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Ollie   Breed: Beagle-Chihuahua mix

Approximate Age: 8 months   SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 15 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living with a foster, Ollie needs a forever home.

Special adoption considerations: none

Sweet and oh so cute, Ollie is a young Beagle-Chihuahua mix who is coming all the way from Puerto Rico to find a forever home. It's going to be much colder than what he is used to so time by the fire or under a soft blanket might be just what this dog is looking for. At 8 months Ollie is getting to the end of the bouncy puppy stage but he still has plenty of energy left in him. This little guy would be welcome in any household as he is gentle and friendly to everyone he meets. Ollie would be fine with a single adult or a family full of kids.

Little Ollie has had a rough start in life. Only 8 months old he has already dealt with Sarcoptic mange, an irritating skin problem caused by mites that makes some dogs scratch so hard they lose their fur. Fortunately for Ollie his treatment went well. His skin is now looking and feeling great!

Ollie also has experienced some eye problems known as corneal dystrophies. Not uncommon in dogs corneal dystrophies can cause the cornea to appear cloudy, even though the dog's vision may be normal. While that may sound intimidating when it occurs in young dogs like Ollie it often resolves itself quickly. Ollie has already shown tremendous improvement and we have been told that his vision is fine. Ollie is not letting something like this slow him down! Ollie currently is being given medication for his eyes and it is not yet known how long this treatment will be needed.

According to his foster mom, Ollie is doing well with his housetraining. He may need a refresher when he arrives in a new home. Ollie gets along well with other dogs and just fine on his cat test but has not yet been tested with kids. Here's what else Ollie's foster has to say about him:

Ollie is such a sweetheart!   He is the last of a 5 puppy litter to make it here from Puerto Rico.  He is super cute with his little parrot snout which gives him an adorable overbite.   He was the runt of the litter weighing in at a pound when first rescued but he is now the tallest of the group!

Ollie has had a very rough road in his young life and can be a bit skittish when you first meet him.   But once he gets over initial introductions, he is extremely loving and cuddly.   He likes to put his head on your neck/shoulder and rest.  He enjoys watching TV and taking naps on the sofa.   Ollie can also be a very active 9 month old puppy. He loves walks and has yet to meet another dog that he doesn't want to play with.   He would make a fantastic second dog.   He's great in his crate and is not a barker.  When he does bark it's the cutest little sound kind of like a snort.   He is also wonderful with my two 12 year old twins

Ollie would love to start off the new year in a home of his own. Can you make this sweet little boy's wish come true?
